The Memory Lane Deck
The Memory Lane Deck was designed for my mom’s 50th birthday. This custom deck of playing cards includes 52 unique hand-drawn illustrations inspired by memories contributed by friends and families.

Line Work
The project demonstrates the power of line to communicate emotion and narrative. Not only did I use a minimalist line art style to create each of the illustrations, but I also created custom suites and a bespoke font for the numbers and letters used to denote each card's value. Combined with an existing font from Adobe that had a similar analog feeling, the deck has a childlike joy to it that celebrates the joy of life.

Box Art
For the box itself, I again wanted to highlight the use of line as texture in the design, but I also wanted to have the outside of the box represent the present moment, not just what came before. That is how I came up with the signpost because it illustrates looking both down the road at the past, and up along the road to the future.
Gratitude
Much of this project would not be possible without the generous support of many of my friends and family. Again, thank you to everyone who contributed. This would not have happened with you! Xo Liesbeth
